Ping Pong Club 4:20
Editor: Phil Davis
This video took about three weeks to complete and was the first (completed) video that Phil did using all high quality footage and a single anime source. This video was ultimately inspired by the Harsh Mistress Television video "Must Increase My Bust" by Lords of Acid. It won the same award two years earlier and caused the editor to become a big fan of Lords of Acid. New techniques were forged in the removal of subtitles from the VHS source.
Awards: AWA 1999 Most Sick & Perverted

Error by KLF

Various 2:56
Editor: Phil Davis, Stephen Oetjen
Error was our second video, which is listed first because it is one of our favorite videos, but not technically our best. It was created to help us familiarize ourselves with Premier and our video capture equipment. Originally halfway through the video we were going to scrap it, but decided to go ahead and finish it. Although we are glad that we did, the source material (including the mod that was used for the music) and resolution are not at professional levels. This is one that any computer user can relate to. The clip selection consists of computers & pain.

This was our very first video. Half of it was done with a Miro video PCI card for the Mac placed in a P133 with 32 meg of ram. This did not work too well, but it did work well enough for us to complete the video at half resolution. Again, this was for learning purposes only but is short and turned out to be entertaining with an excellent techno mod for the source music which keeps the video moving.
Awards: Yeah, right! We should get an award just for completing this.
Clips: Dominion: Tank Police, Patlabor, Playstation Promo Video, Orgus 02, Macros Plus

Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins

Various 3:15
Editor: Phil Davis, Stephen Oetjen, Ed Oviedo, Fred Quinones
Technically this was our third video, though in actuality we started on it before the completion of the second video. It is our first full resolution, full frame rate, good source video. Though some of the sources still look a little rough, overall it is an excellent video. Unfortunately it doesn't tug at the soul like the first two "rougher" videos do. The video consists of lots of aircraft flying and blowing up to the "Top Gun" theme song. It has a rather long intro of about thirty-five seconds which some say is rather slow, but I feel it sets the video up rather nicely.

Tenchi Muyo 3:56
Editor: Samantha Copeland
This was Samantha's first project. It was inspired by a random MP3 audio track that she found on her hard disk one night shortly after watching the Tenchi film. All the pieces just fell in place, and vòilá, one music video for this site.

Cars by Luxt (from Newer Wave, 1997)

Various 3:29
Editor: Stephen Oetjen
This is Stephen's first video. The song is a cover of the Gary Numan song Cars. The video was inspired when a discussion of sports cars in anime went overboard. We came up with a list, and as many as possible are incorporated into this video. Some of the transitions didn't work out very well, but it comes out looking ok.

This video utilized fairly good quality footage from VHS sources which had been played many times. The video was inspired after picking up the soundtrack to "The Gate to the Mind's Eye" in a used book/music store on a discount bin, the CD was marked "For Promotional Use Only." Well, here I am promoting it the best way I know how! After hearing the soundtrack I picked up a copy of the video and managed to work in some "Mind's Eye" footage into my AMV. I was particularly mesmerized by the vocals of Dr. Fiorella Terenzi and am now a fan of hers:) I utilized the same intro technique as found in "Error" and subtitle cropping as in "Danger Zone". I cropped down the song by about one minute and thirty seconds utilizing 5 cuts. Of these cuts only two are noticeable and of those only one causes me distress. The theme of the video may be missed by many not familiar with the anime which I used, all the characters are artificial or cyborgs.
Awards: AWA 4 Video Cut
Clips: Key: The Metal Idol, 8 Man After, Ghost in the Shell, Armitage, Genocyber, The Gate to the Mind's Eye, Bubblegum Crisis, Urusei Yatsura
